Get to know the man behind the microphone
I uncovered my passion for music leading worship at a small Southern Baptist Church back home. Have you found yours?
I followed my dream to California and graduated from college with a degree in commercial vocal performance and music business. I write lyrics and take the stage every night telling the story of my life.
I find inspiration all around me. I try to make my music representative of myself and my fans. I love finding the beauty in the things we often overlook.
Born in Poughkeepsie, NY, Dean was raised on a cattle farm and grew up on country music and pickup trucks. An injury his junior year of high school cut short his college and pro baseball aspirations so he joined the military at the age of 18 and moved down south to Texas.
His first taste of music and the stage came as a worship leader at a Southern Baptist church in El Paso, TX. When he left the military in 2011 he moved to Dallas and spent nearly two years working on his vocal chops and writing skills, playing all the local bars and writing his first album, before moving to Los Angeles at the end of 2012.
In 2014 after just two short years Dean graduated with honors from The Musicians Institute in Hollywood with a degree in Commercial Vocal Performance and Music Business. He founded a Southern rock band "Blackhawk Revolution," that quickly found success in the Southern California country music circuit and wrote his second album.
In January of 2013 he also joined the highly sought after LA Country band "Gold Rush," becoming their newest frontman, and playing dates all over the Southwest (Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Anaheim, San Diego, San Francisco, etc.) Dean has opened for several national acts such as Little Big Town, Kacey Musgraves, Justin Moore, Lonestar, Drake White, and Old Dominion.
Dean also quickly became a first-call for several of LA and Nashville's top producers and songwriters looking for an authentic Nashville, modern country sound in LA to represent their music, and has had his voice on demos sent to artists such as Luke Bryan, Randy Houser and Rascal Flatts, and also the popular TV shows Parenthood and Nashville.
Dean is currently fronting his own band and working on his debut solo album
The sky is the limit for this talented young artist, and we expect big things from him in 2018 and beyond.
